there's a bunch of pictures added to the photo
gallery from our recent trip to washington dc. overall it was a
great trip, we were there for about 2 and a half days and saw a lot.
we both haven't been since we were kids; you appreciate things more
when you're older.
i wonder if any of the politicians in washington
actually walk around the memorials and museums? i must say the
reflecting pond between the washington momument and lincoln memorial
was disgusting. there was algea all over, the grass was gone and
brown and there must have been 500 pounds of geese poop. pretty sad
that people visiting our nation's capital from all over the world
see it like that. how about stopping some of these pet projects
(like studies on why girls have sex in college) and actually putting
it to good use.
i was inspired by the thomas jefferson memorial,
however. it wasn't the most flashy, but the words engraved around
the room remind me of how far our country has fallen. if he was
alive now he probably wouldn't even recognize the state of our
nation. we need to get back to the basics and focus on the
fundamentals our founding fathers believed in. we wouldn't be here
if not for them!

well, debbie and i are back from another trip. i had
to go to the san francisco area for business so deb joined me. when
i wasn't at the conference we were able to check out alcatraz, the
golden gate bridge, the science museum in golden gate park, and
fisherman's warf. unfortunatley for debbie, it wasn't very warm so
no tanning was involved. we were also able to visit with debbie's
cousin, liz, who lives in san fran. it was nice to catch up and she
hooked us up with some excellent places to eat! Be sure to check out
the pictures in the photo gallery
under 2010 - San Francisco.
on a totally unrelatted note, we're in the middle of
upgrading our master bathroom. i ripped out the old fiberglass
shower, vanity, medicine cabinet, toilet, and tile and we hired
someone to install the infrastructure for a slightly larger tile
shower.

as you may have noticed i've switched the website
over to the new host. dxconsulting is basically going away, although
i'm in the process of starting a new endeavor called
DriftLogix. the goal is to
build up a few location in eastern pa that will allow me to host
some local drift events.
as part of this undertaking, the mustang is
undergoing some upgrades this year like new springs, caster/camber
plates, modified spindles, and of course a new seat to keep my knees
in one piece!
on a personal note, it's cold here and i'm really
looking forward to an upcoming vacation to hawaii. debbie has a
pediatric seminar and i get to tag along :-)
07.19.2009
Not my best run of the night, but the only one
caught on tape. Guess that's it for this season of drifting :-(

Another weekend almost over and another day at the
track down! Had a great time yesterday with the SVT Mustang Club
over in Jersey at the Thunderbolt raceway. Debbie and I went for the
car show, but the short time we were able to spend on the track
didn't hurt either :-)
Check out the pics
here. Also, I took some crappy video on the camera which you can
see on the videos page.

Couple of thoughts I had while reading Car &
Driver's latest article on the Cars of the Future.
First,
California and electric cars? Don't they already have problems with
brown-outs there, what's going to happen when all these people start
plugging in their electric draining cars? Yeah, that'll turn out
just great.
The Chevy Volt will have a range of 40 miles and
cost $2 (before the electric rate hike here in PA) to fill up. I can
fill up my Subaru WRX which gets about 23 miles per gallon on 89
octane for approximately $26. That means the equivalent 40 miles in
my turbocharged 260 HP WRX is $3.25; a mere savings of $1.25. I paid
$22,000 for the WRX, the Chevy Volt is expected to cost around
$40,000 (which really means higher). That's a difference of $18,000.
If I drive 10,000 miles a year, the Volt will save me $312.50 in
gas.
So basically, I'm looking at 57.6 years until I break
even on my gas savings. I guess that makes sense according to GM
(government motors) math... sign me up!
NOTE: I'd much rather
drive the WRX over an electric volt any day. Also, I didn't factor
in the cost to replace the batteries in the Volt after they expire
(it's another $18,000).

some will think im crazy for posting this... time
will tell.
WARNING, HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF. i would like to
make a prediction; within 4 years there will be a major conflict (i
don't dare call it a war) involving (at least) north korea, iran,
israel, and eventually us. i would not be surprised, and almost
anticipate, some level of attack against the united states. this
will force obama to take action he otherwise avoids, leading to a
chain of events eventually uniting the country as we rally behind
the defeat of those who wish to harm us. this further results in the
revival of our economy, cementing obama's place at the right hand of
god.
of course this doesn't have to happen as described
(over the course of a decade and after the loss of hundreds of
thousands of lives) ... we could learn from past experience. i fear,
however, we are set to relive the mistakes of our past.
06.03.2009
so what have i been up too lately? how about a new sport (for me)
called drifting! might as well put some of that horsepower to work.
does anyone else see something wrong when the
president of the united states is kicking employees out of public
owned companies? how about the ability to
shut down any private internet network without regard to the
law?
maybe i'm being paranoid, but it seems a lot like
facism...
oh, my wife and i got back from our dream vacation
to australia and wow, what an incredible trip. i'm working a
separate website dedicated to that trip. if there is one thing i
learned while there, it's that nationalized healthcare does not
work.
01.27.2009
it has started...

"The wise and correct course to follow in taxation and all other economic legislation is not to destroy those who have already secured success but to create conditions under which every one will have a better chance to be successful."
- Calvin Coolidge (1925)
11.29.2008
"Any man of energy and initiative in this country can get what he wants out of life. But when that initiative is crippled by legislation or by a tax system which denies him the right to receive a reasonable share of his earnings, then he will no longer exert himself and the country will be deprived of the energy on which its continued greatness depends."
- Andrew Mellon (1929)

wow, what a crazy past couple months! wait, i guess
it's been more than a couple. too much is going on, our church has
started its first multisite campus,
New Vision so things have
been crazy getting that up and running. everything at work is
changing, we are becoming one with dendrite as a result of the
acquisition so things are moving to new jersey, virginia, and
georgia. debbie is almost finished with her nurse practitioner
degree, only 7 more months! i don't think i could be more proud,
there's no way i could put the amount of time and effort into school
as she does.
the mustang went for its first ever photo shoot
about 2 weeks ago, thanks to a friend from work, Sam Horton, and his
friend Leo Aquino. I've compiled all the photos and designed a
completely separate site for the mustang -
www.the-stang.com, check it
out.
05.20.2007
yay! i finally updated the website. a lot has
happened since the last post in march,
ryan is now married for one; congratulations ryan and susan on
the awesome wedding.
this past weekend we went to cj pony part's
bi-annual crusie/drag day. it rained part of the time so that wasn't
great, but we did manage to get about 10 runs in. the turnout was
pretty good to, with about 20 cars showing up. debbie took a bunch
of
video and
pictures which i have finally posted.
debbie and i are still in the process of having
hardwood floors installed, check out the pictures
here.
both debbie's roomates, katie and marcie are
pregnant. debbie went to katie's baby shower this past weekend so
there are a
few pictures from that as well.
03.04.2007
i was checking out some videos on google and came
across this one. all i can say is wow, the skill of these guys is
amazing. i can't believe how they can do some of the sings they do.
i usually don't post this kind of stuff, but this one was especially
worthy :-)
debbie is sick and has a big test tomorrow :-( a
couple more weeks and we will be in florida for her cousin's
wedding, although i think debbie's primary goal is getting as tan as
possible... wait, that's her goal normally!
03.01.2007
ok, make that three new poems
from my grandpa in the misc section.
on a side note, the turtle has relocated to a
better home. "speedy" has been renamed "buddy" by his new owners. he
is getting much more attention and even gets out of his tank to play
with the new owners kids. don't worry, debbie wouldn't let him go
unless it was too a good home :-)
02.27.2007
my grandpa is on a roll, he has
two new poems in the misc section!
i'm really starting to go into mustang withdrawal,
the jetta just isn't cutting it anymore :-) my right foot is getting
heavy. oh well, i guess i will tolerate a few more weeks of
snowboarding... i haven't broken anything yet so i'm still good.
if you're interested, check out the new site i'm
working on for pain specialists
of the greater lehigh valley. it's my first use of the full css
standard, which probably means absolutely nothing to 95% of you :-)
02.20.2007
wow, where did january go? i can't believe that
february is almost over now too. things have been busy to say the
least. i know, what else is new right!
well, debbie and i renewed our vows at church last
sunday, it was awesome. God has really blessed me with an incredible
wife. she is an amazing woman and there isn't a day that goes by i
don't find something else i love about her. a good marriage is not
something that happens by accident, it takes a lot of work but is
totally worth every bit of effort and love.
we are back from oxnard, california
(north of la) after visiting with my parents, eating a lot of banana
pudding and playing with the cats for the holidays. we had a great
time while we were there, my parents house is awesome and will be
even cooler when they finish the development they are in. it's a new
marina community and my dad even bought a boat to fill his slip with
:-) we went on a whale watching tour which ended up being a dolphin
watching tour, very cool. on saturday we visited universal studios
which was awesome as well. hopefully i will have pictures up from
that tomorrow.
christmas in pa was spent at tom and loretta's
enjoying the awesome cooking and then followed up with much
digesting at the bidwell's house. of course we watched national
lampoon's christmas vacation.... a tradition at this point.
tis the season!
christmas is appoaching, black friday is over and all the shopping
is done... well almost. the goal is to be done this saturday, we'll
see. i spent last weekend hooking up the new surround sound speakers
i got at circuit city on black friday, i love a good deal. of course
running all the wire under the carpet was another thing. debbie and
i bought a new digital camera as part of our christmas present to
each other, although after we sold the two old camera we had it
worked out to be an even better deal. if you are looking for good
deals online, make sure you check out
pricegrabber.com and
froogle.google.com
11.05.2006 check out my grandpa's new poem in the
misc section!
11.02.2006 as usual, lots of things going on. check out the pictures
from our church's
celebration sunday,
thanks paul!
i also noticed that cj's posted some pics from the
drag day, check them out
here. my car is in a few :-)
10.16.2006 debbie and i went to
cj pony part's fall drag day on saturday and it was a blast. the
weather was perfect, the drive was great, and there was a good
turnout of cars. the stang went a best of 13.9 @ 102 but my previous
run was a 14.02 @ 103 so i know it still has a little more in it...
if i learn how to drive that is :-)
10.11.2006 first, a couple site updates: pictures are up in the gallery
for
heather's wedding and our
visit to york to see baise joseph and heather and carlos. my
grandpa sent me a new poem about northside
church of the nazarene, now available in the misc section.
congratulations
heather! it couldn't have been a better day for a wedding and
everything was awesome.
10.1.2006 after getting back from boston, things are finally starting
to settle down. this past weekend debbie and i were able to see
heather and carlos again, they were in york visiting their new
nephew, congratulations to heather's brother on a beautiful baby
boy!
the weather is
starting to get colder... you know what that means, snowboarding
season! debbie now has her own board, boots, helmet, etc so i'm
really excited. plus we have a bunch of people who got season passes
to bear creek so it looks to be a good time.
09.13.2006 nothing like a nice gap in updates :-) debbie, cheri,
jonathan and i all just got back from indiana where we visited
heather and carlos and my grandparents. it was a blast, we also went
to chicago and walked around navy pier. of course we had to visit
gino's east and get some real chicago deep dish pizza too.
my parents are now
both in california. it's quite a change, although we now have a nice
place to vacation!
09.07.2006 i drove a
ferrari f430!!! me.... want.... one....
06.24.2006 well, debbie and i are back from our first anniversary trip
to virginia beach, va! it was a lot of fun and very relaxing.
